Cohen Announces Nearly $800,000 for UT Health Science Center in Memphis

[WASHINGTON, DC] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) announced today that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis has been awarded a total of $795,651 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for three projects.
“These funds will help continue the important work being done by the skilled researchers at the UT Health Science Center in Memphis,” said Congressman Cohen.
The following grant awards are included under today’s announcement:
- HHS’ National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases awarded $330,000 in grant funding to UTHSC for the “20(OH) Vit D3, T Cells, and Arthritis” project.
- HHS’ National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases awarded $150,000 in grant funding for the “Regulation and Function of FGF23” project
- HHS’ National Institutes of Health awarded $315,651 in grant funding to UTHSC for the “Mass Spectrometer for Small Molecule Drug Development” project.
