Cohen Celebrates Jewish American Heritage Month at White House

May 18, 2011

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) today released the following statement in recognition of Jewish American Heritage Month, which is celebrated throughout the month of May. The Memphis Congressman yesterday celebrated by attending a Jewish American Heritage Month reception at the White House with President Obama:

“This month we celebrate and pay tribute to the many contributions made by Jewish Americans. Throughout our country’s history, Jews have worked to promote the social and cultural values all Americans share through their work in public service, medicine, academia, law, literature, athletics, and many other professions. The Jewish American story is one of faith, dedication, hard work, and love of country. Jews have given so much of themselves for the development and prosperity of Memphis, Tennessee and the rest of our great country.”
