Cohen Hosts Telephone Town Hall on Affordable Care Act

March 19, 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) tonight hosted a Telephone Town Hall on the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act and its many benefits. U.S. Health and Human Services Deputy Secretary Bill Corr joined Congressman Cohen on the call to answer constituent questions.

“Town halls give us the opportunity to discuss the issues and concerns that matter most to Memphis families,” said Congressman Cohen. “Today we discussed the many benefits of the Affordable Care Act, which I was proud to support. Whether it’s the economy and creating jobs, voter identification laws, or the Affordable Care Act, 9th District constituents have opinions and ideas that help us move forward with legislation in Congress.”

The Telephone Town Hall meeting began at 6:30 p.m. CST and lasted approximately one hour. More than 3,320 District 9 constituents participated in the call and asked questions about the Affordable Care Act. Since being elected to the House of Representatives in 2006, Congressman Cohen has hosted dozens of town hall meetings in his Congressional district and via telephone from Washington, D.C.
