August 3, 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today hosted a Telephone Town Hall on how best to create jobs and improve the economy, middle class tax cuts, health care, and other issues.

“Town halls give us the opportunity to discuss the issues and concerns that matter most to Memphis families,” said Congressman Cohen. “Today we discussed how best to create jobs and strengthen our economy, middle class taxes, health care, and other important topics. Whether it’s Social Security, check engine lights, or the war in Afghanistan, 9th District constituents have opinions and ideas that help us move forward with legislation in Congress.”

The Telephone Town Hall meeting began at 3 p.m. CT and lasted a little more than one hour. More than 5,250 District 9 constituents participated in the call and asked questions about a wide variety of issues. Since being elected to the House of Representatives in 2006, Congressman Cohen has hosted dozens of town hall meetings in his Congressional district and via telephone from Washington, D.C.
