Cohen Receives "A" on Human Rights Campaign Scorecard

March 8, 2011

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN) recently received a 91 percent on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) scorecard for the 111th Congress. The Congressman was the only member of the Tennessee delegation to score an “A” on the prestigious scorecard.

“It is an honor to be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign for my work on behalf of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community,” said Congressman Cohen. “I have long advocated for civil rights for all Americans, regardless of their sexual orientation, and I remain committed to fighting for full equality for all Americans.”

Established in 1980, HRC represents a grassroots force of more than 750,000 members and supporters nationwide. As the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, HRC envisions an America where LGBT people are ensured of their basic equal rights, and can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community.
