Cohen Receives Perfect Score from Planned Parenthood

April 20, 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) earned a perfect score on the Planned Parenthood Action Fund Congressional Scorecard for 2012. Congressman Cohen was the only member of the Tennessee Congressional delegation to receive a perfect score.

There are some in Congress who want to repeal the last 50 years’ worth of advances in reproductive rights for women, whether it’s through legislation or by cutting funding for vital women’s health services,” Congressman Cohen said. “I will continue to stand with women and make sure that their right to reproductive choice is protected.

The Planned Parenthood Action Fund is a political action committee affiliated with Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). It works to secure safe and affordable health care for women, comprehensive sex education, and access to contraception through advocacy in Congress. PPFA is a national non-profit organization which provides access to contraceptive and reproductive health care services to women and girls. It operates over 800 clinics throughout the United States.
