Cohen Requests Governor's Support for Disaster Assistance

Today, Congressman Cohen released the following statement about the storms that passed through the mid-south:

“My heart goes out to everyone whose homes and businesses have been damaged by the storms over the last two days. I am working with Senators Alexander and Corker to ensure that the proper steps are taken so that federal assistance can be provided to those whose homes and businesses have been damaged during the storms this week. I spoke to Governor Haslam earlier today to express my concern for the families who have been affected by the thunderstorms and flooding and to request his support in applying for federal assistance. He is expecting to be in Memphis tomorrow to see the damage. Since my conversation with Governor Haslam, I have joined the ranks of the approximately 18,000 without power.”
