Cohen: St. Jude to Receive $218K for Research
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) today announced the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital $218,750 for Allergy, Immunology and Transplantation Research – particularly, metabolic control of regulatory T cell differentiation. The funds will be administered by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
“St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital continues to provide research and treatment that saves lives in Memphis and across the world,” said Congressman Cohen. “I’m a lifelong supporter of St. Jude and believe in their doctors, scientists and researchers. This new funding will allow St. Jude to continue the important research and medical work they do on a daily basis.”
NIAID conducts and supports basic and applied research to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases. For more than 60 years, NIAID research has led to new therapies, vaccines, diagnostic tests, and other technologies that have improved the health of millions of people in the United States and around the world.
