Cohen: St. Jude to Receive $240K for Research
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital $240,059 for cancer cause and prevention research.
“St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is one of the best research hospitals in the country and provides a valuable service to our children and community,” said Congressman Cohen. “These new federal funds will help ensure St. Jude doctors and scientists continue to provide our children with the best care possible.”
The new federal funds will be distributed by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). NCI is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which is one of 11 agencies that compose HHS. The NCI, established under the National Cancer Institute Act of 1937, is the federal government’s principal agency for cancer research and training.
