Cohen: Telephone Town Hall for Seniors Informative, Helpful
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) today hosted a telephone Town Hall on Medicare and Social Security for approximately 60 minutes between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. CT. More than 8,100 constituents from the 9th Congressional District participated in the call.
“Hearing what my constituents have to say about the issues is very important to me,” said Congressman Cohen. “The telephone Town Hall was geared toward the issues of Medicare and Social Security but I discussed a number of concerns with 9th District residents today, including how best to create jobs and improve the economy, unemployment benefits, and Veterans’ affairs, among other topics. Hearing what Memphians think about the issues helps me better represent them in Congress.”
As with traditional Town Halls and District Office Issues Meetings, the telephone Town Hall offered an opportunity for direct dialogue between the Congressman and 9th District constituents.
