Cohen Votes to Increase Funding for Israeli Missile Defense System
May 24, 2010
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) recently voted to support the U.S.-Israel Rocket and Missile Defense Cooperation and Support Act (H.R. 5327) – legislation that authorizes the President’s request to provide American assistance to support the deployment of Israel’s Iron Dome Rocket and Missile Defense System. The Memphis Congressman issued the following statement:
“Rocket and missile attacks are a constant threat in Israel. The Iron Dome anti-missile defense system will help Israel protect its citizens from terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah. This funding will help Israel complete the short range rocket defense system and help bring peace to the Middle East.”
