Congress Continues to Honor America's Fallen with Reading of Names

March 7, 2007

Washington, DC -- On Thursday, March 8th Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) will join fellow members of Congress to continue to honor those soldiers who have lost their lives in the war in Iraq and Afghanistan on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. The project, begun in 2006, will continue to honor these men and women until each name is read into the Congressional Record.

"It is important to remember the individual sacrifice of each of our troops. While we often speak of the troops as a whole, there is seldom recognition of the individuals who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country," said Congressman Cohen. "By reading these names into the Congressional Record, we strive to honor the fallen and to ensure that their sacrifice is always remembered."
