Congressman Cohen Announces $294,000 Grant for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center

The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, a division of HHS, granted the new award to Dr. Shadab A. Siddiqi, an instructor in the Department of Medicine at the UT-HSC College of Medicine. Dr. Siddiqi’s research focuses on the biological approaches to digestion, particularly with regard to the role of the liver.

“I am very pleased that HHS has once again recognized the important scientific research being conducted in the 9th District,” said Congressman Cohen. “We need to continue funding the important work of scientists like Dr. Siddiqui at UT Health Science Center, and I commend HHS for doing so.”
