Congressman Cohen Announces Free Dental Exams and Sealants For Children
Beginning Monday, June 2, 2008 through Friday, June 27, 2008, dental clinics will be open Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m at the following locations:
First Baptist Church Broad Ave.

Patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointment is necessary. Dental professionals will examine each child's teeth for signs of decay. They will also apply approved dental sealants to the chewing services of all molars and pre-molars to help prevent decay and cavities.
Spanish translators will be available daily at the Hickory Hill Community Center clinic.
“I am very pleased that the Memphis and Shelby County Health Department is taking this important initiative to ensure that the children of the 9th District maintain proper oral care,” said Congressman Cohen. “This program provides an excellent opportunity for children to not only receive free oral examinations, but also provides preventative care through protective sealants, which studies have shown can decrease tooth decay by as much as 60%.”
