Congressman Cohen Awarded Perfect Score from the League of Conservation Voters

[WASHINGTON, DC] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today received a perfect 100% score by the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) for their 2015 National Environmental Scorecard. Congressman Cohen's score was the highest awarded to a member of Tennessee's Congressional Delegation. It far exceeds the 21% average score of the entire Tennessee delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives.

"It is an honor to be recognized by the League of Conservation Voters with a perfect score for my record on the environment," said Congressman Cohen. The LCV's National Environmental Scorecard scored 35 different votes to provide objective, factual information about the most important environmental legislation considered and the corresponding voting records of all members. The Scorecard represents the consensus of experts from about 20 respected environmental and conservation organizations who select the key votes on which members of Congress should be scored. LCV scores votes on the most important issues each year, including energy, global warming, public health, public lands and wildlife conservation, and spending for environmental programs.
