Congressman Cohen Completes First Week in Congress; Named to Influential House Transportation...

Washington, DC-- Congressman Steve Cohen completed his first full week on Capitol Hill, casting affirmative votes to raise the minimum wage as well as for implementation of the 9/11 commission recommendations, advancement of stem cell research, and legislation to bring down the cost of prescription drugs for every American senior. Congressman Cohen voted last week for the ethics reform package.

Also this week, Congressman Cohen was named to the influential Transportation and Infrastructure Committee this week. Previously, he was named to the Judiciary Committee. Congressman Cohen stated, ā€œIā€™m very pleased with my Committee assignments. Transportation issues are so important to District 9. Constitutional issues have always been important to me; I want to ensure that the rights and liberty of every citizen are secure. I appreciate the confidence that Speaker Pelosi has in me.ā€
