Congressman Cohen Meets with Israeli Ambassador to United States
[WASHINGTON, DC] – In his Capitol Hill office today, Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) met with the Israeli Ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer. The two discussed several issues including Iran’s nuclear program, the status of U.S. sanctions on Iran, Prime Minister Netanyahu’s planned visit to the United States, Hezbollah, Syria, ISIS, and Jordan. “I appreciated Ambassador Dermer visiting my Capitol Hill office. I was very impressed with him and enjoyed our productive conversation that touched on many issues concerning Israel,” said Congressman Cohen after the meeting. “It is important for our country’s leaders to keep open the lines of communications with one of our closest allies.”
This week, Congressman Cohen also discussed Middle East security and Israeli issues in separate meetings with Azerbaijani Ambassador to the United State Elin Suleymanov and Turkish Minister of European Affairs Volkan Bozkir.
