Congressman Cohen Pays His Respects to Slain MPD Officer Sean Bolton

[MEMPHIS, TN] - Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), former legal advisor for the Memphis Police Department, issued the following statement to pay his respects to murdered MPD Officer Sean Bolton:

“Over the last several sad days, the Memphis community has united to mourn the loss of Memphis Police Officer Sean Bolton and to support his family, friends, and fellow officers. Last night, Memphians turned out in force for the ‘Sea of Blue’ passing through our city, honoring Officer Bolton. This morning, Officer Bolton was honored and remembered at Bellevue Baptist Church by his fellow officers, fellow Marines, and his friends for his service to our city and our nation. Sean Bolton served his country as a Marine in Iraq and he served his city as a police officer in Memphis, making the ultimate sacrifice for his fellow citizens.

“In giving his life to protect Memphis, Officer Bolton leaves a grieving mother, two sisters, a brother and countless other family members and friends who will always cherish his memory. He also leaves an appreciative community grateful for his dedication, his service and his bravery in the face of danger.May his courage, his devotion to duty, and the love Officer Bolton had for our community inspire us all and serve as his legacy.”
