On Saturday, I attended the School Health Fair and Seminar at Whitehaven High School. My friend Hazel Moore, known by many as “the Mayor of Whitehaven,” puts on this back-to-school fair every year to give out school supplies to students, conduct health screenings and provide other information students might need to start a new school year.

On Saturday, I attended the grand opening of the Institute of Cosmetology, Inc. and Joy Divine Boutique. I would like to congratulate my friend Dr. Roosevelt Joyner for opening the institute and boutique, and I encourage Memphians to come out to these institutions.
