MEMPHIS, TN – Yesterday, Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) presented the son of T.O. Jones with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for his role during the 1968 sanitation strike. T.O. Jones was president of Local 1733 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) at the time of the strike. T.O. Jones passed away on April 12, 1989.
MEMPHIS, TN – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced the Memphis Health Center will receive $3,133,617 in new federal funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Division of Grants Management Operations so the facility can continue providing health services to the local community.
