WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee, has signed on to 13 articles of impeachment against President Trump introduced by Congressman John Larson of Connecticut.

The articles include Trump’s wide-ranging abuse of the pardon power; his unauthorized use of military force in Venezuela and Iran; and his deployment of the National Guard into American cities, among other high crimes and misdemeanors.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today wrote to Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner Will Reid urging him to prioritize the long overdue completion of repairs to Elvis Presley Boulevard. In his letter, the Congressman noted that continued delays and uncertainty have dragged this project on for over a decade. He emphasized the importance of Elvis Presley Boulevard for Whitehaven residents and the entire Memphis area.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) tonight released a statement after U.S. District Judge Richard Leon in Washington ruled that construction of a White House ballroom must cease until President Trump receives Congressional approval after demolishing the East Wing. The statement reads:

WASHINGTON – On Thursday, Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) received a 96 percent on the League of Conservation Voters’ National Environmental Scorecard for his voting record on 28 measures in 2025 deemed important to the organization. The votes ranged from protections for endangered species to clean energy and sustainable treatment of federal lands. Congressman Cohen is the only member of the Tennessee Congressional delegation who scored higher than zero.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), a staunch advocate of clean air and corporate transparency, today wrote to xAI following the release of an independent health impact analysis evaluating emissions associated with the Memphis-area facilities. In the letter, he sought specific information regarding the company’s operations as well as its commitment to provide advance public notice of its ongoing power generation plans.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), a longtime member of the Congressional Animal Protection Caucus, has once again received a perfect 100 percent on the Humane World Action Fund and Humane World for Animals Scorecard, previously known as the scorecard of the Humane Society Legislative Fund and the Humane Society of the United States. He has consistently received the highest score on humane treatment of animals issues dating to his time in the Tennessee State Senate.

WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today sent a letter to the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Board of Directors raising serious concerns about TVA’s recent issuance of Supplemental Environmental Impact Statements (SEISs) for the Kingston and Cumberland Fossil Plants, and urging TVA to postpone any vote on the proposals until the public has a full and open opportunity to review and comment.
