WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), the Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties, today voted to impeach President Trump for high crimes and misdemeanors for the second time. Congressman Cohen led an early effort to impeach Trump by introducing five Articles of Impeachment on November 15, 2017, and voted to impeach Trump for the first time on December 18, 2019 but the Senate failed to convict him at trial.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), the Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, tonight joined his Congressional colleagues in calling upon Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the provisions of the 25th Amendment and remove President Trump from office.

In the past 20 years, the archaic institution has twice awarded the presidency to a candidate who did not win the popular vote, defeating the will of the American people.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today joined his colleagues in a bipartisan vote overriding the President's veto of the National Defense Authorization Act. The measure contains vital provisions for our service members, addresses Vietnam-era veterans dealing with exposure to Agent Orange, and begins the process for removing the names of Confederate officials in the Civil War from our military installations, among its important provisions.

The vote, which required a two-thirds majority, was 322 to 87.
