MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), a senior member of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, today wrote to President Biden, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and Federal Highway Administrator Shailen Bhatt about the continued need to advance Complete Streets principles to address dramatic increases in both driving and pedestrian fatalities. WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), a senior member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, today offered an amended version of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Salary Transparency Act that he and Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-2) introduced last week at a markup of the legislation. The full committee passed the bill by a voice vote, and it is now eligible for consideration by the full House of Representatives.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that 14 of his Community Projects, valued at $16,065,195, have been approved for funding by three Appropriations subcommittees. This is a major hurdle for projects Congressman Cohen asked for in this year’s 2024 Fiscal Year appropriations process and is subject to possible revision as the negotiation process moves forward for a final FY 2024 budget.
