WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, today announced Fiscal Year 2022 apportionment for transit and highway programs released Wednesday by the Federal Transit Administration.

WASHINGTON – Earlier today, Congressman and Helsinki Commission Co-Chairman Steve Cohen and Helsinki Commission members Roger Wicker and Ben Cardin met with Mikhail Khodorkovsky, and Co-Chairman Cohen released the following statement:

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), Co-Chairman of the Helsinki Commission, today questioned expert witnesses at a Commission hearing on Oligarchs, Enablers and Lawfare. He also addressed the need to support Ukraine in its war, saying "If they don't win, we all lose."
In his opening statement, Congressman Cohen said in part:

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, today questioned National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) Chair Jennifer Homendy on several traffic safety issues.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) and 15 cosponsors today introduced the Prohibit Wildlife Killing Contests Act to stop the practice of rewarding hunters for killing animals on public land in contests that serve no legitimate wildlife-management purpose.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
"America's wildlife all play a special role in the natural ecosystem and killing them for what some deem ‘sport' is both cruel and unnecessary. These contests serve no legitimate wildlife-management purpose and ending them is the right thing to do."

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) went to the House floor this evening to remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who was assassinated while in Memphis in support of striking sanitation workers 54 years ago today.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and its Subcommittee on Aviation, expressed his disappointment at a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) study of airplane seat sizes as it relates to the emergency evacuations of passengers.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) went to the House floor this morning to remember the late Congressman Don Young, Republican of Alaska, whose funeral service he attended earlier this week.
In his remarks, Congressman Cohen said in part:

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee, today spoke in favor of and voted for the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act. The measure removes cannabis from the list of federal controlled substances, raises revenue from sales to reinvest in communities disproportionately harmed by the war on drugs and expunges the records of federal criminal marijuana offenses.
