WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) today reintroduced legislation – the American Coastal Waters and Shorelines Protection Act – to require all vessels conducting offshore drilling in U.S. coastal waters to register as a U.S. vessel and fly the American flag. WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) today announced the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded the city of Memphis $3 million in Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration funds to perform lead hazard reduction activities and coordinate with community partners to educate, train and mitigate lead concerns in housing units. The program will evaluate 350 homes for lead paint hazards and eliminate lead hazards in 220 homes.
