MEMPHIS – In advance of the Thanksgiving holiday, Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that U.S. Treasury Department figures indicate an estimated 148,000 children in Tennessee's 9th Congressional District qualified for the enhanced Child Tax Credit (CTC) authorized by the American Rescue Plan and received $38.2 million in November alone.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee, today spoke in favor of and voted to advance the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act from the Committee to a House floor vote. The measure removes cannabis from the list of federal controlled substances, raises revenue from sales to reinvest in communities disproportionately harmed by the war on drugs and expunges the records of federal criminal marijuana offenses.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) last night sent a letter to President Joe Biden asking the administration and National Institutes of Health to make monoclonal antibodies more readily available to patients with COVID-19. Additionally, he requested the revision of guidelines to prevent people who have chosen not to be vaccinated from being prioritized over people who are vaccinated against the coronavirus.
