It is important to provide all children and families access to a quality, affordable education and healthcare to help them secure a prosperous future. As a member of Congress, I have championed for legislation that makes it easier for Americans to balance work and family responsibilities, expands support for foster youth care, and serves the needs of children with special behavioral health needs and/or medical disabilities. I also firmly believe that assisting families in their pursuit of higher education is critical for our nation's growth and success.

WASHINGTON -- One year after the American Rescue Plan became law, Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) announced today that Tennessee's 9th Congressional District has received $18,459,774
to date from the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) Emergency Connectivity Fund Program (ECF).

MEMPHIS – Late Wednesday night, Congressman Cohen voted to pass an omnibus spending package to keep the government open and make transformative investments to help working families with the cost of living, create American jobs, and support the vulnerable. It also included $11.7 million in funding for the community projects in Tennessee's 9th Congressional District that Congressman Cohen requested through this year's appropriations process.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will receive a $557,841 grant from the National Cancer Institute for research entitled "Measuring Lifelong Multimorbidity with Patient Perspectives: Implementing and Visualizing the Cumulative Burden Methodology Across Cohorts."

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will receive a $416,325 grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to conduct research entitled "The Role of Immature Tumor Subpopulations in Pediatric Rhabdomyosarcoma." This is the third NCI grant to St. Jude Congressman Cohen has announced this week.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today introduced the Keeping Evictions off Credit Reports Act. This bill would prevent evictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic from appearing on credit reports, which would negatively affect a person's future access to credit or housing.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that a Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program operated by the Community Alliance for the Homeless will receive an additional $86,929 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), raising the total award to $3,819,948. The original grant award was announced in September.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that Shelby County will receive $445,272 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Emergency Food and Shelter Program. The funding is part of a $530 million effort to address hunger paid for by both 2021 Fiscal Year appropriations and through the American Rescue Plan that Congressman Cohen voted for last March.
