The funding, totaling $3,022,867, is part of FEMA’s nationwide release of Fiscal Year 2024 fire program awards, and will support vehicle acquisition and operations and safety investments for the Memphis Fire Department.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today introduced the Clean Cloud Act, legislation to establish emission standards for electricity used by high-demand energy users such as cryptominers and data centers. The measure has seven original cosponsors. The companion bill was introduced by Senators Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW), and Senator John Fetterman (D-PA).

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today wrote to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem seeking clarification of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recruitment practices as the President seeks to deport one million people a year. Specifically, he asked whether insurrectionists pardoned by the President for their conduct during the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol are employed by the department or rightly deemed ineligible.
