The amendment by Congressman Tom McClintock (CA-04) would have allowed community violence prevention grantees to ignore President Biden's vaccination requirement announced last week.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) welcomed today's proposal by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to add the National Fireworks site, located in Cordova, to its Superfund National Priorities List (NPL) for removal of toxic chemicals detected in groundwater. The listing of the site would make it eligible for federal cleanup funding as one of the nation's highest priority contamination sites.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today filed formal comments with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services opposing the block grant-style waiver for Tennessee's Medicaid program, known as the TennCare III waiver. The unhealthy waiver, granted by the Trump administration as it was leaving office without public comment, would be a "a devastating blow to Tennesseans who rely on Medicaid to meet their basic health needs." TennCare is Tennessee's Medicaid program.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive a grant of $3,211,742 to repair, renovate and modernize its biocontainment laboratory from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
