[WASHINGTON, DC] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in downtown Memphis was awarded $393,750 in grant funding to aid in important work related to many autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. The grant, which is essential for the hospital’s efforts to prevent and treat diseases related to the immune system, comes through the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ (HHS) National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

[MEMPHIS, TN] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) has once again urged Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam to expand Tennessee’s Medicaid program, TennCare, and help Tennesseans who are caught in a coverage gap. Thousands of Tennesseans don’t have access to quality health care because of the State’s inaction. Other states whose Governors oppose expanding Medicaid like Arkansas, Iowa, and Michigan, have been able to reconcile their concerns with the best interests of those they represent—but Tennessee has not.

[WASHINGTON, DC] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) received the highest grade awarded to a member of Tennessee’s Congressional Delegation by the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) in 2013. In the 28 votes that the LCV’s 2013 National Environmental Scorecard graded, Congressman Cohen did not vote against the pro-environment position once, and his grade of 96% far exceeds the 23% average score of the entire Tennessee delegation.
