WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced a $179,375 grant to the University of Memphis from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke for research on neurological disorders.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), Chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, today presided at a hearing on "Discrimination and the Civil Rights of the Muslim, Arab, and South Asian American Communities."

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the University of Memphis will receive a $174,789 grant from the National Science Foundation supporting a project entitled "CRII: III: Towards Effective and Efficient City-scale Traffic Reconstruction." The project is under the direction of Assistant Professor of Computer Science Weizi Li, Ph.D.
MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the University of Memphis will receive a $611,610 grant from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "CAREER: From slow to fast, micro to macro, single events to cascades: A multi-scale study of seismic event triggering in lab and nature." The work is directed by Assistant Professor Thomas Goebel, Ph.D., of the University's Center for Earthquake Research and Information (CERI).
MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive a grant of $413,761 grant from the National Cancer Institute to conduct breast cancer research.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a member of the Natural Resources Committee and of the Congressional Animal Protection Caucus, today wrote to Interior Secretary Deb Haaland and Bureau of Land Management Director Tracy Stone-Manning with his concern that federal policies for managing wild horses and burros retain outmoded and inhumane plans for mass roundups. Congressman Cohen urged officials to make use of effective fertility control vaccines and reassess the capacity of federal lands to sustain the iconic creatures.
