WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the Department of Interior’s Migratory Bird Conservation Commission has approved a North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA) grant of $1,308,567 grant to the Wolf River Conservancy to protect 1,536 acres of wetlands and adjacent uplands along the Wolf River and its tributaries.

Lyash urging them chart a path to 100 percent clean, renewable sources of energy by 2035, in line with the Biden Administration’s executive order on catalyzing a sustainable U.S. economy.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), a senior member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, today offered an amended version of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Salary Transparency Act that he and Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-2) introduced last week at a markup of the legislation. The full committee passed the bill by a voice vote, and it is now eligible for consideration by the full House of Representatives.
MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today wrote to Governor Bill Lee asking him to seek a disaster declaration for damage done to homes, businesses and utilities by the third round of serious storms to hit the region since June 25. The request involves severe thunderstorms beginning July 18 that affected parts of Shelby County.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) has written a second letter to Sterilization Services of Tennessee General Manager David Connor demanding an explanation for why the company’s facility in Memphis has not taken action to reduce ethylene oxide emissions when the company’s plants in Georgia and Virginia have taken proactive steps.
