[MEMPHIS, TN] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded the University of Tennessee Health Science Center three federal grants totaling $780,393 for a variety of programs and research projects.
“This significant federal investment will help the UT Health Science Center continue its pioneering research on the human brain,” said Congressman Cohen.

[MEMPHIS, TN] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced $541,667 in federal funding to help the Memphis Health Center open a new access point in the Whitehaven community. The new access point will provide the same health care services that Shelby County citizens have come to expect of the Memphis Health Center’s other locations. This grant funding comes from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration.

The elimination of the Preschool Development Grant program, as proposed in the Republican education plan awaiting a vote in the House and Senate, could prevent nearly 7,500 low- and moderate-income Tennessee children from attending pre-school, according to the U.S. Department of Education.
