The measure has seven original cosponsors. The companion bill was introduced by Senators Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW), and Senator John Fetterman (D-PA).

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today wrote to Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin seeking the reversal of a proposal to rescind the 2008 Endangerment Finding acknowledging climate change has an impact on human health and safety.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive a grant of $399,076 to study repurposing FDA-approved drugs to target chronic alcohol tolerance from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will receive a grant of $830,254 for research into sickle cell disease from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute under the direction of Dr. Mitchell J. Weiss. St. Jude also received a $277,500 grant in August to study the disease.
