WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today applauded House passage of an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that included his amendments to stem foreign corruption and requiring the Secretary of Defense to attempt to recover aircraft supplied by the United States that Afghan pilots flew out of the country as the Taliban took over last month.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that Southwest Tennessee Community College has received a $600,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Predominantly Black Institutions Program to improve educational outcomes for African American male students.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced two grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) totaling $4,192,346 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC).
The St. Jude grant for $1,077,000, from the National Cancer Institute, is for research on the progression of leukemia. The UTHSC grant for $3,115,346, from the Director's Office at NIH, is for radiobiology research.
