WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis will be receiving a National Institutes of Health Director's New Innovator Award grant of $2,692,500 for clinical research related to neurological disorders.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, will preside at a Memphis Field Hearing on "Discriminatory Barriers to Voting" on Thursday, September 5, in the Historic Moot Courtroom of the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law on Front Street downtown. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler and Representative Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas are expected to attend the hearing.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) announced today that St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis will receive two grants totaling $765,763 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The first grant, for $410,606, from the Department's National Cancer Institute, would pay for cancer treatment research. The second grant, for $355,157, from the Department's National Institute of General Medical Sciences, would underwrite research in pharmacology, physiology and biological chemistry.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the Porter-Leath Early Head Start Programs will be receiving an additional $1,979,643 grant from the Administration for Children and Families-Office of Head Start. On Monday, the Congressman announced Porter-Leath would be receiving $1,207,183 for the same Early Head Start programs.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) was pleased to see that his bill, the National Guard and Reservists Debt Relief Extension Act, has been signed into law.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will be receiving a grant of $739,566 from the National Cancer Institute for cancer detection and diagnosis research.
