[WASHINGTON, DC] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today touted a new report showing that uninsured Memphians will pay even less than expected for quality health insurance when Tennessee’s health insurance marketplace begins a six-month open enrollment period on October 1st.
[MEMPHIS, TN] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) announced today that the University of Memphis and its faculty have been awarded a total of $1,838,172 in grant funding for four different projects. The funding announced today is from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
[MEMPHIS, TN] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) announced today the Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) will receive $2.2 million in federal funds to help refurbish and enhance the Main Street Trolley Line. Today’s funding comes through the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).
“These new federal funds will help improve livability in downtown Memphis, increase tourism, drive economic development and create good-paying jobs right here in our city,” said Congressman Cohen.

[MEMPHIS, TN] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) announced today that Southwest Tennessee Community College was awarded a $2.66 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) for the development and expansion of innovative training programs. Southwest Tennessee Community College is also a member of two different multi-college partnerships that were additionally awarded just over $5.76 million in funding for training programs under today’s announcement.
[MEMPHIS, TN] – After a federal court permanently barred the owners and a former manager of Mo’ Money Taxes from preparing tax returns for others and owning or operating a tax return preparation business, Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) issued the following statement:

Memphis has truly lost one of its most beautiful citizens. Evie Horton will be sorely missed by all.”
