WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) was this week re-elected Regional Whip by House Democrats. In this capacity, the Congressman will count votes for the Democratic Party and represent Region VII, a territory which includes Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, North Carolina and South Carolina.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today voted to extend the 2001/2003 tax cuts to middle class families and small businesses.

“I was proud to cast a historic vote to permanently extend tax cuts to 97 percent of Americans,” said Congressman Cohen. “In these tough economic times, these tax cuts will provide much needed relief for American families and the small businesses that drive the American economy.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today voted to support legislation to reduce childhood hunger and childhood obesity across America.

“No child should ever go hungry,” said Congressman Cohen. “This measure would help reduce childhood hunger by increasing access to child nutrition programs and would provide healthier food options in schools to help combat childhood obesity.”

The Memphian Judge currently serves as a United States District Judge for the Western District of Tennessee, a position she’s held for 15 years.
