WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), the ranking member of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice, announced today his intention to reintroduce his constitutional amendment to limit the President's pardon power when the new Congress convenes in January.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) enthusiastically and proudly endorsed Nancy Pelosi of California to be the next Speaker of the House of Representatives, as he has prior to every new Congress since the 2007 leadership elections that made her the first woman Speaker. Congressman Cohen wrote his colleagues on November 16 offering his full support for what he called "a skilled and experienced tactician, a steel hand in a silk glove." See the letter here.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) applauded last week's Senate passage of his bill, H.R. 5349, to name the post office at 1320 Autumn Avenue in Memphis for Judge Russell B. Sugarmon Jr., the Civil Rights leader, attorney and judge. The House passed the bill in September and the final step is for it to be signed into law.
