WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today discussed the tax preparation firm Mo’ Money Taxes at a Congressional hearing on Identity Theft and Income Tax Preparation Fraud. The Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security of the House Judiciary Committee held the hearing per a request from Congressmen Cohen, Robert “Bobby” Scott (D-VA), Bennie Thompson (D-MS), and Scott Rigell (R-VA).

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Reserve Board has released guidance that will be used in determining the compensation or other remedy that borrowers will receive for financial injury identified during the Independent Foreclosure Review. Banks like Bank of America, Wells Fargo, JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup and others will pay as much as $125,000 plus equity to individual customers most harmed by mishandled foreclosures in 2009 and 2010.
