MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will receive a $754,304 grant from the National Cancer Institute to study the trajectory of epigenetic aging and health outcomes in childhood cancer survivors.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), a longtime proponent of using the Clean Air Act to limit the pollution driving climate change, today applauded the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) suite of new rules governing fossil fuel-fired power plants. He was particularly pleased to see a final rule requiring the safe management of coal ash like that produced by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) announced that Memphis Health Center Inc., Porter-Leath, and the Shelby County Board of Education will be receiving grants totaling $21,309,797 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Porter-Leath will receive $1,385,603 to operate its Head Start programs and the Board of Education will receive $14,553,699 to operate its Head Start programs. Memphis Health Center will receive $5,370,495 to support its programs.
