Congressman Cohen Speaks on FAA Reauthorization Bill

Washington, DC – Today on the House Floor, the House of Representatives passed Congressman Steve Cohen's legislation, H.R. 2587, which names the Post Office Building at 555 South 3rd Street Lobby in Memphis in honor of Kenneth T. Whalum, Sr.

Thank you Mr. Speaker, and Mr. Chairman, I rise in strong support of H.R. 2587, which would designate the postal facility at 555 South 3rd Street Lobby in Memphis, Tennessee, as the Kenneth T. Whalum, Sr. Post Office building.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Steve Cohen and Senator Lamar Alexander announced a $477,996 grant through the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) for Shelby County, Tennessee. This money is part of a larger $14.8 Million grant which will help enhance school safety throughout the United States. The grants were awarded through the COPS Secure Our Schools program, which provides funds to improve security at schools.
