WASHINGTON – Congressmen Steve Cohen (TN-09) and Don Beyer (VA-08), after extensive consultation with the White House and Treasury Department officials, today introduced the Billionaire Minimum Income Tax Act, to ensure that the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share in taxes.
The bill would enact President Biden's proposal to require households worth over $100 million to pay at least a 20 percent tax rate on their full income, including unrealized gains.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will receive two grants from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and a third from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). One of the NCI grants, for $444,265, will support research into acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The other NCI grant, for $227,140, will underwrite training in pediatric immunotherapy.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee, voted late Wednesday night to advance an assault weapons ban to the full House of Representatives. During debate on the measure, Congressman Cohen engaged his Republican colleagues in debate, arguing their defense of such weapons involves the anticipation of a civil war.
