[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – With the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) reportedly considering a rule proposal that could allow for voice calls from cell phones during domestic air travel, Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today drafted a letter to Michael Huerta, Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), strongly urging the FAA to maintain the ban on cell phone calls in flight. The letter also expresses concerns about disruptions to passengers’ flight experience as well as for consumer safety.
[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today spoke in support of H.R. 2066, the Pets on Trains Act of 2013, at a press conference held in front of Washington’s Union Station. He was joined at the press conference by Congressmen Jeff Denham (CA-10) and Michael Grimm (NY-11), as well as dog trainer and television personality Laura Nativo. The Pets on Trains Act, which Congressmen Cohen and Denham introduced together in May, would allow families and passengers to travel with domesticated cats and dogs on certain Amtrak trains.
