WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee long concerned about the potential abuse of the presidential pardon power, was pleased to see his proposed Constitutional Amendment to limit the pardon power was endorsed by former Clinton Administration Labor Secretary Robert Reich.

Reich called attention to the proposed amendment in a Substack article on Tuesday after President Biden pardoned his son Hunter.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee and a former member of the Committee on Ethics, today reoffered a privileged resolution continuing his effort to release the Ethics Committee’s report of alleged misconduct by former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz. He will speak on the measure and notice it on the floor this evening.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive two grants from tow National Institutes of Health totaling $1,213,557. The first, for $754,446, is from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for research on the microbiome. The second, for $459,111, is from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, for research on a “Novel Pharmacological Approach to Stroke Neuroprotection.”

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), the Ranking Member of the Aviation Subcommittee, today announced that four Shelby County airports will receive a total of $18,734,518 in formula funding from the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Infrastructure Grant Program. The funding comes from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that only Congressman Cohen among current members of the Tennessee Congressional delegation voted for.
