WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the Tipton County School District will receive $936,722 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Program for 14 video conferencing units, software and training. Instructors will deliver expanded educational opportunities to an estimated 10,638 Tipton County residents, according to the USDA.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive two grants from tow National Institutes of Health totaling $1,213,557. The first, for $754,446, is from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for research on the microbiome. The second, for $459,111, is from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, for research on a “Novel Pharmacological Approach to Stroke Neuroprotection.”
