[WASHINGTON, DC] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice, has joined Congressman Lacy Clay (MO-01), who represents Ferguson, Missouri, to introduce the Police Training and Independent Review Act of 2015. The legislation would help encourage incidents of deadly force used by police to be investigated and, if need be, prosecuted, by an independent entity as well as provide improved training for police officers.

[MEMPHIS, TN] – At the Shelby County Health Department’s 2015 Infant Mortality Summit this morning, Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) discussed his efforts to reduce the rate of infant mortality in Memphis as well as highlighted a new health clinic in Raleigh funded in part by the Affordable Care Act. The Congressman also highlighted provisions of the Affordable Care Act that can help Memphians keep themselves, their families, and their communities healthy.

[MEMPHIS, TN] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) announced today that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis was awarded a total of $1,885,417 in federal grant funding for six different research projects.

“These significant federal investments will help keep Memphis and the UT Health Science Center at the forefront of the medical research community,” said Congressman Cohen.

[WASHINGTON, DC] — Today, Representatives Jared Polis (D-CO), Steve Cohen (D-TN), and Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) sent a letter to President Obama urging him to nominate a new Drug Enforcement Administration chief that has a more progressive approach to federal drug enforcement.
