[WASHINGTON, DC] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) announced today that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis was awarded a $22,089 grant for nurse anesthetist traineeships. The funding for this grant was provided by the Health Resources and Services Administration, a branch of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
“This grant will help to maintain the excellent standard of medical education at the UT Health Science Center.” said Congressman Cohen.
[WASHINGTON, DC] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) late yesterday introduced an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2014 Energy and Water Development Appropriations bill that would have helped our nation achieve energy independence and bolstered local employers like Sharp Electronics. MEMPHIS, TN -- Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was awarded a $437,500 grant for a vision research project. The funding was awarded by the National Eye Institute, which is part of the National Institutes of Health.

[MEMPHIS, TN] –Today, Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) announced over $2 million in grants to Memphis have been awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor. The City of Memphis Youth Build Program will receive $1.1 million for workforce development programs and the Memphis Leadership Foundation will receive $1 million for programs to help juvenile offenders.
