WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive a $231,000 grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to study the genetic determinants regulating susceptibility and resistance to SARS CoV-2 (Covid).

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive a $203,280 research grant from the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), Co-Chairman of the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, also known as the Helsinki Commission, today addressed the Organization for Security and Cooperation's (OSCE) Parliamentary Assembly and urged it to make a strong statement in support of Ukraine when it gathers in Birmingham, England, in July.
In his remarks, Co-Chairman Cohen said in part:

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today wrote to Tennessee Valley Authority CEO Jeffrey Lyash about plans to transition away from coal-fired electricity generation by building a new fossil gas plant, which would require the construction of a new gas pipeline. Congressman Cohen urged a re-thinking of the plan and an increased focus on clean, renewable energy.
