WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) today announced that Booker T. Washington High School of Memphis, Tennessee is one of three schools that received the most online votes in this year’s Race to the Top High School Commencement Challenge. From these remaining schools, President Obama will choose one as the winner later this week and will participate in their commencement ceremony this year.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) today announced the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded the University of Tennessee Health Science Center three grants totaling $669,750.00 for clinical research related to neurological disorders and the immunity and latency to chlamydial infections. The new federal funds will be distributed by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) today announced the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded the University of Tennessee Health Science Center $358,000 for heart and vascular diseases research. The new federal funds will be distributed by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHBLI).
