“Tobacco use continues to put a huge strain on the health care industry, causing hundreds of thousands of deaths each year in the U.S.,” said Congressman Cohen. “I am extremely grateful that St. Jude has committed members of their all-star scientific research team to investigate new treatments for nicotine addiction, and the HHS should be commended for recognizing their efforts.”
The purpose of the workshop is to provide homeowners who are concerned with rising mortgage payments or foreclosure with timely, confidential information and objective advice from trained counselors. The workshop will also give homeowners an opportunity to meet with counselors individually to discuss their own circumstances and available options.

It is an institution of long and historic importance to our community, and it has done a great deal for our city in educating young people and it continues to do so. This amendment would give LeMoyne-Owen additional help so they can continue to serve a mission that is unique in this country: providing quality, affordable higher education for the African-American community.”
